Book Early To Find Your Perfect Summer Home

Planning Your Summer Getaway Now Can Lead to Big Savings

Take a break from new of blizzards and stubborn winter weather to cast your imagination and attention to the sunny days of summer. Of course, the Okanagan is a beautiful place to spend summer, but if you want a family getaway, now is a great time to start planning your summer holiday home.

Early Birds

The best prices and availability go to those who plan well in advance. This is especially key if you are hoping to book for a larger group, as these properties go fast. Book your spot anywhere from a year to 60 days ahead to secure your spot.

Flex Your Flexibility

Think outside the box regarding dates and locations. For example, if you can arrive or depart on a weekday you may save money. Decide how important it is to be right at the center of the attraction. Do you need to be beach/waterfront? Can you stay slightly outside of town and drive into the tourist areas? You may be surprised how a slight compromise regarding location can lead to huge savings.

Newbie Bonus

Look for new listings that are still trying to build up reviews and reputation. Some of these holiday homes are hidden gems that are still realizing their value. Make sure to minimize your risk by researching the area well (Google Street view is great!) and corresponding with the owner to preview the service quality they will provide.

No Regrets

Of course we all want to save money but be careful not to go so cheap it detracts from your experience. While it is good to avoid paying for a bunch of amenities you won't use, it is still a holiday, so make sure that you stay somewhere you will be happy to come home after a long sun-filled day.
