INNOVATIVE AND INEXPENSIVE WAYS TO DECORATE YOUR HOME FOR THE HOLIDAYS

Decorating tips to help you get creative and save money at the same time

Decorating for the holidays doesn’t have to break the bank. With a little creativity, you can get your home ready for the festive season while keeping costs low. Here are some of the unique and cost effective decorations that would make any room worthy for the holidays:

DIY Decorations

Mass production of decorations is okay, but it can take away from creativity. Hang paper snowflakes cutouts from the ceiling, or cut up old wrapping paper to make a Christmas-inspired garland.

Crafty Calendar

Create a personalized advent calendar as a wall display. Use small envelopes, burlap sacks, or tiny gift boxes attached to a string of twinkling fairy lights. Fill each with treats or small trinkets, and watch the excitement build as the big day approaches.

Repurpose and Upcycle

Some items needed for holiday decorations can be found right in your house. Candle holders can easily be made from glass jars, or turn them into snow globes by adding artificial snow, ornaments, and figurines. Take some old sweaters and make them into cozy pillow covers or festive stockings.

Holiday Wall-Hangings

Turn your walls into a canvas for holiday cheer. Frame festive wrapping paper as a background for a family photo gallery from past holidays, or use removable adhesive hooks to display a string of holiday cards.

Super-Natural

Nature provides plenty of free holiday decor. Collect pinecones, branches, and evergreen clippings to make wreaths, centerpieces, or garlands. Add a touch of sparkle with spray paint or glitter
and fragrance through dried oranges or cinnamon sticks.

Creative Colours

Holiday decor doesn’t have to be traditional red and green. Challenge yourself by using what you have already to achieve an entirely new colour scheme. . Metallics, blues, or even pastels can make your home feel modern and fresh during the holidays.
